Exposure is minimal today and will likely remain low for the foreseeable future. AI may gradually help with logging geological data or generating drill pattern layouts, but the hands-on operation of heavy equipment and real-time adjustments to drilling conditions resist automation. The role will evolve slowly, with technology supporting documentation rather than replacing the driller.
